Why I Built MHR Online Fitness Coaching: A Personal Training Journey
I started personal training back in 2010. Over the years I’ve worked across a wide range of areas, group training, bootcamps, gym instructing, one on one PT, sports specific programs, and AFL and Netball pre seasons. I’ve even coached fitness for motocross riders. Out of everything, the standouts for me have always been the sports-focused programs. Watching someone develop over time, grow their confidence, and perform better in their chosen sport is something I never get tired of.
From Personal Training to Online Coaching
One thing I’ve noticed along the way is how overwhelming the fitness world can feel. There’s so much information out there that most people don’t know where to start. Everyone seems to be saying something different, and it often leaves people thinking they need the “perfect” plan before they can begin.
The truth is simple: doing something is always better than doing nothing. Small, consistent steps are what lead to long term results. That’s the philosophy I wanted to bring to MHR Online fitness coaching, cutting through the noise and providing clear, structured programs that actually work.
Why Structure Matters in Fitness
When I moved into online personal training in 2015, it was because I realised two things:
-
There are only so many hours in the day. If I stayed with face to face PT, I could only help a limited number of people.
-
Family time matters. Running bootcamps and back to back PT sessions was rewarding, but it left little room for balance.
By creating 12 week training programs and online coaching, I could reach more people while still keeping that family balance, and provide a proven framework that keeps clients progressing without guesswork.
Who MHR Online Is For
The truth is, MHR Online is for everyone. Beginners who just want to get moving, busy parents trying to make training fit around life, athletes chasing performance, or everyday people who simply want to feel stronger and healthier. With the tiered system we’ve set up, there’s a starting point for everyone and a clear path forward as your goals evolve.
The Philosophy Behind MHR Online
For me, this isn’t about chasing fads or overcomplicating fitness. It’s about helping people train in a way that builds strength in both body and mind. That’s what I believe everyone should have access to.
This is just the start, and wherever you’re at, there’s a place for you here.
